These minutes are not approved until accepted by the SASA Board Members at their next meeting.
Present
Board Members: Bob Berno, John Bonnette, John Cioffi, Mark Deso, Dan Ellis, Candy Granger, Mike Ladd, Sarah Lang, Heather Lamothe, & Laura Wilson
John Cioffi called the meeting to order at 6:35pm.
1) Review minutes from September 13th meeting. Bob made a motion to approve the 9/13/09 minutes with 2 corrections. Heather seconded. Motion passed, unanimously.
2) Fundraising Committee (Tonia, Laura, Jim, John B, John L)
a. Update – Heather shared that $600 has been raised by the selling of the old jerseys.
b. Ad Book Progress – Heather reviewed sponsor’s donations. These are up from last year.
3) Registrar
a. Registration Update – Heather reviewed #’s at each level.
4) Head Coach
a. Green & Gold Clinic Review – Bob stated that the clinic went well & that an evaluation will be posted soon on the website.
b. Coaches/Evaluators Meeting – Bob reviewed how the evaluators were chosen & what their evaluation sheets will look like.
c. Tryouts - Heather has the evaluation tables all booked with volunteers for handing out pinnies & the information table.
5) Treasurer
a. Update – John L. not here.
b. Outstanding Balances – Heather shared the status. Due to the online registration, this is the best shape we’ve been in.
6) Master Scheduler
a. Ice Schedule Update – John C. reported that Jim has the schedule done for the year.
7) Snack Bar
a. Update – Laura reported that the popcorn machine needs to be fixed & informed the duties of some snack bar people.
b. BFA Game Schedule – Waiting until teams are picked.
8) Equipment Manager
a. Update – John C. asked Mark to look for new mite goalie gear.
9) Pro Shop
a. Update – Mike is all set & will be doing an email out to members asking for help in the pro shop.
10) Tournament Committee
a. Pictures – Vermont Instant Images & Cold Hallow Photo
b. Thanksgiving – all set per Bob.
c. Andrew Irving Mite Jamboree – filling up fast per Dan.
d. Girls Rail City Challenge – Mark has been getting a lot of interest.
e. Maple Season Face-Off – Heather has been getting some interest.
11) New Business – John C. shared some information from USA hockey geared toward 1st time hockey players.
John B. asked Bob to bring it up under the coaches meeting that all players must wear neck guards. John B. made a motion that SASA make it mandatory for all players, mites & above, must wear neck guards or they cannot play. Bob seconded. Motion passed, unanimously.
Heather also reminded Bob to remind the coaches that any girls should not be changing in the same locker room as the boys.
12) Old Business
a. Hard’ack Community Rink – John C. said they will be meeting in the next 2 weeks.
b. 501 3c Status Change - We are now officially a non-profit organization. John C. will ask Tim Streeter about how we get our tax exempt #.
c. Hungerford Plaque – September 26 – the presentation went very well & we’ve been getting some great feedback.
d. Mite Structure 09-10
i. Progress – Update – John B. reviewed.
e. Passport Reminder – still on the website.
13) Next Meeting – November 8th, 6pm
Mark Deso adjourned the meeting at 7:35pm.
