Andrew Irving Mite Jamboree Rules
This tournament will be governed by “USA Hockey Rules”
Mite A & B Divisions
All games will consist of three 10-minute stop time periods
Penalties - Minor: 1 minute; Major: 3 minutes; Misconduct: 5 minutes
Running time will be used if one of the following exists:
- One team is behind by five or more goals entering the third period
- Tournament is behind schedule as determined by the tournament director
Points will be awarded as follows - 2 pts. for win, 1 pt. for tie, 0 pt. for loss
The team with the most points will be the winner in their division. The team
with the second most points will be the runner up and so on.
In the event of a tie, the winner will be determined by:
1. Head to Head
2. Least goals allowed (total)
3. Most goals scored (total) no credit for more then 7 goals in a single game
4. First goal scored (head to head)
5. Coin flip by tournament director
‘ A’ Division - At the end of the third game, the teams will be ranked from
1 to 6. The team in 1st place will play the team in 4th place. Team ranked 2nd
and 3rd will play. The winners from these two games will play in the
Championship game. Teams ranked 5th and 6th will have a consolation game.
‘ B’ Division - Round robin within each division. After round robin, each
division will have a winner and a runner up. The winner of the division will play
the runner up of the other division to determine who goes to the championship.
Ties during playoff games or championship:
- 4 on 4, 5 minute stop time, sudden death overtime. Any penalties left after
regulation time will be carried over into the overtime.
- If still tied, each team will select 3 players for a shout out, most goals win
- If still tied, sudden death shoot out. 1 player from each team until a winner is
determined. Must be different player then the previous 3 players selected.
House Mite Division
All games will consist of three 40-minute games
Penalties - penalized player will be replace by another player for the shift
Tournament director reserves the right to shorten games
- Teams will have to share locker rooms & benches
- No more then 2 coaches on the bench, due to lack of bench space
- Each team will get a 2 minute warm up
- Each team will consist of a goalie & 4 players on the ice
- No score will be kept
- A horn will sound every 1.5 minutes to change lines
- One referee will be on the ice. Please be kind, they are volunteers
